Inspiration

It's been a few days since we left Portland, but I remain inspired by our hosts, Nick and Amy. Nick and Amy are an inspiration to me because they are two people who are living their passions. Nick races mountain bikes and makes a living as a rep for bicycle companies. Amy started and runs The Pixie Project, an animal adoption center that also has a pet supply retail arm. 100% of the proceeds from the retail arm fund animal rescue and adoption services.

Nick and Amy have found a way to blend their passions with their work lives -- and what they do every day both lifts their spirits and makes the world around them better. As someone who is trying to do the same, I left Portland with admiration for our hosts. In addition to being generous and fun, they are also models for how to live and work.
